So I use Flickr to share photos - check out my gallery here.

Well, until this week I have.

See, Flickr is owned by Yahoo!, which now might be gobbled up by Microsoft. And I'll be hog-tied if I'm going to use a Microsoft product. You know they're going to screw it all up, make it bloated with useless features. Argh. I can't stand them!

Anyway, I'm now in the market for a new photosharing site.

I found Zooomr awhile ago, but the interface is kind of clunky. I can't even figure out how to change my buddy icon. Better call that "very clunky".

Other people on the internet tubs have recommended these three sites:

Anyone have an opinion? I'm open to anything, I like the community of Flickr but I bet lots of people will start jumping ship soon. Should I wait to see where they go? Be a lemming? Or should I strike out and be an early adopter?

Anything but Microsoft. That's my slogan ...

I'd hold off on jumping ship for a while. First, there's no deal in place yet (though I think it will happen eventually). Second, i don't know if Flickr will fit in with MSFT's overall plans, so it may end up getting sold off before all is said and done (it's pretty much autonomous from Yahoo as it is).

If you do decide to jump though, I'd go towards SmugMug. I like the overall feel of the company, and they've got some cool features for viewing photos that will resize to your screen resolution. Don't know if there's quite the community as there is in Flickr though. If community's your thing, then maybe Zooomr would be the better alternative.
